Cover Reveal: God Didn't Make Us to Hate Us
Now available for preorder, out February 18, 2025!
Y’all I cannot believe it, but here she is – the cover to my actual, honest-to-God BOOK that I wrote for you and me both.
I’m obsessed. The pink flowers?! That fierce yellow?! That BOLD font?! I am overwhelmed. I keep thinking about how this book will look, disrupting shelves of shame to tell every single person searching: God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us. Let’s get free, together.
You can pre-order your copy now from wherever books are sold!
Pre-orders are the best way to get this book into as many hands as possible, as everyone in the industry uses these numbers to measure the book’s success. I poured my heart into this book, and, if I may say so, it really is something I’ve not seen before and I really, really pray it will be a balm of grace and fire of freedom for so many people.
Will you help me get the word out? You can order a copy of the book, ask your local library or bookstore to pre-order a copy, and maybe even text a friend (or enemy, lol) that this book made you think of them.
Because when I say I wrote this book for you? I mean that … literally. I did hours of meticulous research, re-reading all the questions I had ever been asked online – every comment under every video, every Q&A, and looking at my own personal notes from classes I’ve taught and coffees I’ve shared with parishioners.
And I heard over and over again:
“I am a progressive / deconstructing Christian, but most of the devotionals out there are for conservative evangelicals, or the theology books are written for grad students and not everyday Christians. Can you help me pray again?”
“I’m a survivor of fundamentalism, and I want a devotional to help me fall in love with God again.”
“I’m an LGBTQIA+ (or affirming) Christian, and I still want to talk about the love and grace of Jesus Christ.”
“I miss the joy I had when I was an evangelical Christian. Is there anything out there that will help me have joy while I pursue justice for all? ”
“I feel so lonely at church when we talk about politics, and I am hungry to see how my faith actually can support my social beliefs.”
“I don’t read the Bible literally, but I do take it seriously - I want a devotional for someone like me.”
“I want a devotional to help me reconstruct a deeper spirituality.”
… So, humbly and wholeheartedly: here is my offering, to you, and to God, as we wonder together.
Rev, this is so exciting!!! I'd love to help you promote it on the Lady Preacher pod, if you're up for an interview!
